Getting Your Website Ready for the New Year

We'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone with a website that they should do a quick review of their site.  As the new year begins, you will most likely find lots and lots of little changes that should be made to reflect the current activities of your business or organization.

There are lots of things on a website that should be changed regularly if you wish to have what is called "Stickiness".  This term essentially means that your website grabs you, makes you want to stay and look around, and also promises to have new information the next time you return.  The best way to create "Stickiness" is to put active information on a site like: highlight boxes, activity calendars, discussion forums, new products/items, newsletters, and many other functions that attract viewers.

If you already have lots of these concepts imbedded into your site, then they will most likely need to be changed to reflect the new year.  This especially concerns any activity that has been from the past year, adding the latest January newsletter, and making sure your highlight boxes have true highlights in them.  Another very simple thing that does reflect on your credibility is simply changing the copyright date on your site to list when your site first went live through the current year.  All of these updates are very important to have a positive and successful website!
