| William deBuys
is a writer and conservationist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
His first book, Enchantment and Exploitation: the Life and
Hard Times of a New Mexico Mountain Range, which won a Southwest
Book Award, combines the cultural and natural history of northern New
Mexico. His second book, River
of Traps, one of three finalists for the 1991 Pulitzer Prize,
combines memoir, biography, and photography.
DeBuys’s third book, Salt Dreams: Land and Water in Low-Down
California, destined to become a classic, is an environmental and
social history of the land where the Colorado River comes to an end. |
