Arthur Sze is a second-generation Chinese American who was born in New York City.  He lives in Pojoaque, New Mexico, and is a Professor of Creative Writing at the Institute of American Indian Arts.  He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and is the author of seven books of poetry: The Silk Dragon: Translations of Chinese Poetry (due out in June 2001), The Redshifting Web (1998), Archipelago (1995), River River (1987), Dazzled (1982), Two Ravens (1976), and The Willow Wind (1972).  His work has also been translated into Chinese, Italian, and Turkish.  He is the recipient of an Asian American Literary Award, a Balcones Poetry Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, an American Book Award, and other awards, fellowships, and residencies.
