Tony Hoagland
has published two collections of poetry:
Sweet Ruin, from the University of Wisconsin Press, and
Donkey Gospel, from Graywolf Press.
Donkey Gospel won the James Laughlin Prize, given to the best second book of poems published in a given year.
Hoagland has received grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment on the Arts, and the Poetry Society of America. His poems and essays about poetry have appeared widely; he currently teaches in the graduate writing program of the University of Pittsburgh and in the Warren Wilson MFA program.
