Martha Blue is the author of several legal self help books for artists, publishers, and writers; a monograph on the Dine’s Witchpurge of l878; the award winning ethnobiography: Indian Trader: The Life and Times of J. L. Hubbell; and her first published fiction, a children’s story in English and Navajo, Little Prankster Girl: At’ééd Ádíláhí Yázhí which was recognized as a Southwest Book of the Year. She brings to her writing endeavors 27 years of legal practice in Northern Arizona’s Indian country with specialties in Indian Welfare, Indian Law and Intellectual Property Law, her work as an artist and her involvement with numerous non-profits. She was general counsel for the Havasupai Tribe for nearly 20 years.

Among her awards, she was chosen by the Maricopa Bar Association as one of Arizona’s 100 women and minority lawyers who made a difference in Arizona’s legal history. Graduating from Prescott High School, she’s resided in Northern Arizona including the Navajo Reservation except for her schooling at the University of Arizona and a short stint for legal aid in Micronesia.
